dr. lisa dubrofsky, MDCm, FRCPC, MAS, FASH
Dr. Lisa Dubrofsky is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at the University of Toronto, and a practicing nephrologist at Women’s College Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, in Toronto, Canada. She is a certified Hypertension Specialist with the American Society of Hypertension and has advanced training in Cardiology-Renal-Endocrine care. Dr. Dubrofsky’s clinical and research interests are in hypertension and cardiovascular risk reduction.
dr. sheldon w. tobe, MD, msc ch (hpte), frcpc, fash
Dr. Sheldon Tobe is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Nephrology at the University of Toronto and at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, and an associate scientist at the Sunnybrook Research Institute and institute of medical science. Dr. Tobe's research is focused on improving the lives of people with or at risk of developing kidney disease by focusing on the prevention, diagnosis and control of hypertension. He holds a HSF/NOSM Chair in Aboriginal and Rural Health Research and is engaged with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine to facilitate research in rural and Aboriginal communities based on the principles of social accountability.
katie poolman RD, BA, BASc
Katie Poolman is a Registered Dietitian, currently working in nephrology at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. She holds a BASc in Nutrition and Food, as well as a BA in Linguistics and Psychology. She has previously worked in education, as an instructor and in curriculum development. Her areas of clinical research experience include diabetes in pregnancy.
Dr. kara nerenberg, MD, MSc, FRCPC
Dr. Kara Nerenberg is a General Internist and an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Departments of Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary. Dr. Nerenberg’s clinical and research interests are the epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular diseases in young women with pregnancies complicated by hypertensive disorders of pregnancy. Her research is supported by CIHR and Heart & Stroke’s Women’s Heart and Brain Health Mid-Career Research Chair.
Dr. Serena Gundy, MD, FRCPC
Dr. Serena Gundy is an active staff member of Hamilton Health Sciences and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at McMaster University. She is an attending physician on the Internal Medicine Inpatient Clinical Teaching Unit, where her primary focus is around the care of medically complex patients who are pregnant or contemplating pregnancy. As an Obstetric Medicine physician, Dr. Gundy has a particular interest in post-partum follow up and care transitions. She runs a women’s vascular health clinic which focuses on short and long-term risk modification for women who have experienced hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.
