Blood Pressure

Having had high blood pressure during pregnancy increases your chances of having high blood pressure in the future. It is important to have blood pressure measured periodically (at least once a year in your doctor’s office).

Blood pressure control is important because having a high blood pressure over a long period of time can cause damage to your blood vessels, heart, kidneys, and brain.

There are ways to reduce your risk of developing high blood pressure. If it does develop, there are many treatments that work well with little to no side effects.
